WHAT'S COMING TO THE MARKET THIS WEEK, 27 June 09

Angelhoeve Farm has that especially tasty fresh organic Berkshire pork this week and the full range of their wonderful sausages. Angelhoeve is the only vendor selling certified organic meat at the market.

Welcome Cammie Harbottle, joining us for the first time from Tatamagouche.  Cammie is a certified organic farmer bringing a lot of spring vegetables including lettuce mix, spicy salad mix, spinach, kale, kohlrabi, radishes, swiss chard, cilantro, beets and greens, and a variety of red, green, buttterhead, and romaine lettuce heads.

Pasture Hill Farms from Kings County will be bringing strawberries, spinach, beet greens, swiss chard, kale, mushrooms, apples and cider, grass fed beef and a special sale on free range chicken (breasts and leg quarters).

Dale Weir with Dusty Code Farms from the Noel Shore will be here with swiss chard, lettuce, spinach, kale, green onions and fresh basil.

Alex from Highland Farms, Hants County is coming with lettuce,  spinach,  chard, beet greens.

Greg with Elmridge Farms from Canning is bringing shell and snow peas, lettuce, green beans, beets, carrots, onions, potatoes, spinach & strawberries.

Dave at Four Seasons Farms from the Maitland area will be bringing double-washed salad mix, arugula, spinach, stir-fry mix, snap peas, tomatoes, beet greens, swiss chard, radishes, rosemary, thyme, basil, chives, chocolate mint, applemint, spearmint, peppermint, sage, nettles, rhubarb, peonies and edible flowers.

This will be the last week for potted lavender plants from Beach Lane Lavender of River John.

Kevin with Limpalong Farms is bringing fresh strawberries, beet greens, assorted lettuces, red and white potatoes, red and green cabbage, broccoli, sweet potatoes (the best we have ever had!), red and white onions, cut squash, blueberry juice, assorted jams.

Have you seen the beautiful little book that Jane Mason-Browne has produced? “MARITIME ABC”. Perfect for kids and visitors to the Maritimes.  Congratulations Jane, great job! You will find Jane and all her lovely cards adjacent to Mary’s Bread Basket.

Add to the long list of delicious cupcakes a new GLUTEN FREE cupcakes, Chocolate or Vanilla, at Susie’s Shortbreads, in the lower mall, in the winery.
