September 23, 2016, Halifax, NS – ‘The Shelf’ at the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market will soon carry locally-produced Nova Scotia spirits. Steinhart Distillery, Glenora Distillery and Nova Scotia Spirit Co. will be available to Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market customers throughout the week at ‘The Shelf’ which is the retail store located within the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market. The Market is also very excited to announce the expansion of Goldwater Seafood to a storefront location, and the return of North Mountain Pie Company, both of which will be operating during regular Seaport Market hours seven days per week.

To mark these developments, the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market will host a celebration and product sampling from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23.

“This is positive news for our customers and our vendors,” said Julie Chaisson, Executive Director, Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market. “Business incubation is one of our goals. We are thrilled to be able to promote local craft spirit producers throughout the week at ‘The Shelf’ alongside local wineries and other producers. We continue to focus on growing the weekday market, and the return of both a weekday fish seller and grab-and-go food retailer means our customers can shop here every day and find everything they need to prepare a fresh, locally-sourced meal.”

The Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
